Monroe County Heritage Days, Union, WV

Elements of the 2nd U.S. Cavalry will participate in living history and reenactment in the town of Union, WV, that was occupied by Federal forces in 1864. We will recreate several events known to have happened during this occupation, including skirmishes and interactions between Federal and Confederate forces, and the local population. The event will take place on the grounds of Elmwood, an antebellum plantation house, and on the streets of Union, WV. The town of Union will also host a period Civil War dance.
